Exciting news for all you fellow Hunger Games fans!
It has just been announced that actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast to play the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in the upcoming Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire! Plutarch will be the mysterious new Gamemaker for the Hunger Games in the film.
According to Lionsgate, the movie “begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever. ”
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth will all be reprising their roles as Katniss, Peeta and Gale in the next film. Francis Lawrence has also been named director of the next movie in the trilogy.
