Leighton Meester steps out of her Gossip Girl shoes for a brand new role in the upcoming film The Oranges.

In this upcoming comedy/drama film, Leighton plays the role of Nina – a 24-year-old who becomes involved with her father’s best friend (played by Hugh Laurie).

“David and Paige Walling (Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener) and Terry and Cathy Ostroff (Oliver Platt, Allison Janney) are best friends and neighbors living on Orange Drive in suburban New Jersey. Their comfortable existence goes awry when prodigal daughter Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester), newly broken up with her fiancé Ethan (Sam Rosen), returns home for Thanksgiving after a five-year absence. Rather than developing an interest in the successful son of her neighbors, Toby Walling (Adam Brody), which would please both families, it’s her parents’ best friend David who captures Nina’s attention.

When the connection between Nina and David becomes undeniable, everyone’s lives are thrown into upheaval, particularly Vanessa Walling’s (Alia Shawkat), Nina’s childhood best friend. It’s not long before the ramifications of the affair begin to work on all of the family members in unexpected and hilarious ways, leading everyone to reawaken to their lives, reassess what it means to be happy, and realize that sometimes what looks like a disaster turns out to be the thing we need.”

After the news broke this morning that Twilight superstar Kristen Stewart has been cheating on her boyfriend of 4 years Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the internet has been going crazy over the news.

Photos were released of the pair getting cozy together during a secret rendezvous, proving the rumours to be true.

Kristen has just released an official statement to acknowldege the affair and to apologize to her fans and to Rob.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” Kristen said.

Kristen and Rob are slated to appear together one more time in the final Twilight film Breaking Dawn:Part 2 which will be released into theatres this fall.

Keeping busy after hosting the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, singer Demi Lovato jetted off to Miami to fulfill her duties on the X-Factor.

Demi is in town with her fellow judges Simon Cowell, L.A Reid, and Britney Spears for the latest round of auditions for the show’s second season, which will air this fall on FOX.

The 19-year-old star was spotted leaving her hotel yesterday (July 24), looking pretty in a light skirt and wedges as she headed off. She even showed off her newly dyed blue tips of her hair in a stylish braid!

The X-Factor even tweeted a little quote from the auditions of Demi with a contestant! “”Have you put your heart & soul & everything into this audition?” – @ddlovato. “Yes.” -contestant. “You’re on the right track.” -Demi.”

Stepping out for a bite to eat, actress Selena Gomez was spotted out in Sherman Oaks, California yesterday afternoon (July 24). Dressed in a black tank and a pretty scarf, Selena was spotted heading into Panera Bread for a bite to eat. She even stopped to pose for a photo with a young fan before heading home!

Earlier this week, Selena was also seen heading for lunch at a Japanese restaurant on Monday before heading to see The Dark Knight in theatres that evening.

Pretty Little Liars beauty Shay Mitchell was all smiles yesterday (July 24) as she made an appearance in New York for the launch of American Eagle‘s Real People Contest outside of the flagship store in Times Square.

Decked out in a pretty pink ruffled top and jeans, Shay did a live photo shoot with photographer Patrick McMullan while jamming out to some tunes with the event’s DJ Connor Cruise.

Shay is a part of American Eagle’s Live your Life campaign, which celebrates real people and the way they express themselves in AE Apparel. It’s no longer a secret that Kristen Stewart has been dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson for a while now. After the pair appeared together at the Teen Choice Awards this past weekend, new reports have been released claiming that Kristen is having an affair with another man.

US Weekly magazine has reported that Kristen allegedly had an affair with 41-year-old Rupert Sanders, the director of her latest film Snow White and the Huntsmen.

Rupert isn’t a single man himself, the director is married to 33-year-old model Liberty Ross and the couple have two children together.

The magazine says that Kristen & Rupert have been spotted making out multiple times.
