Ever since she admitted that she has a little crush on One Direction‘s Niall Horan, singer Demi Lovato has been the subject of never-ending rumours that the pair are dating.
Earlier this week, it was reported that “Demi’s told the guys backstage she and Niall are loosely dating – it’s casual but they are definitely dating, albeit long-distance.”
Despite the speculation, Demi cleared up the gossip in the latest issue of Teen Vogue, where she stars on the cover.
“He’s a really awesome, sweet guy. But he’s not my boyfriend.” Demi explained.
This year, Demi has taken a break from dating in order to focus on her latest project – her new role as a judge on FOX’s singing competition The X Factor. Demi was offered a spot in the judges seat last spring, before teaming up with Simon Cowell, L.A Reid, and Britney Spears for auditions throughout the summer.
“It was a no-brainer! Right before I got the offer, I’d been sitting in a meeting feeling really discouraged [about my career], wishing I was further along.” Demi said. “And I decided that I needed to stop thinking about what I wished I had and start thinking about what I was going to have. I was ready to do something new, and I wanted to put that out there, in the universe… and then [Simon Cowell] called, literally, a week and a half later.”
