Actress Gina Rodriguez popped up in New York City on Saturday (May 20), where she represented her hit CW show Jane the Virgin at the 2017 Vulture Festival.
Gina joined her castmates Andrea Navedo, Yael Grobglas, Jaime Camil, Brett Dier and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman for the event, where they chatted about the show and about Michael (Brett)’s death this season.
According to Jaime Cahill, the table read for Michael’s death episode “was like a lake of tears.”
“I was so upset when I lost Brett,” Gina said about Michael’s death. “Obviously, it was the worst experience literally to date as an actor in my life, because this man has given so much joy to me.”
Gina then joked that the show’s time jump gave her a new co-star instead, the 4-year-old who plays her son Mateo: “I lost him for a 4-year-old, which was like getting another version of Brett.”
Jane the Virgin will return for season four this fall on the CW!
