Actress Jennifer Lawrence has spoken out about film producer Harvey Weinstein and his alleged sexual harassment of women over the past three decades.
In a statement to Variety, the Mother! star condemned Weinstein, saying:
“I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behavior. I worked with Harvey five years ago and I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations. This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting. My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions. And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward.”
Jennifer worked with Weinstein in 2013 on the film Silver Linings Playbook.
Weinstein was fired from the Weinstein production company this past week after nearly a dozen women came forward with stories of sexually harassment involving Weinstein. Today, three more women have shared their stories in a new feature by the New Yorker.
