Branching out from his acting career, The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson will be adding producer to his list of achievements. According to The Wrap, the 20-year-old actor has signed on to star in the new dark psychological thriller named Ape for Atomic Owl Pictures and JetLag Productions.
Ape will be “a dramatic tale of a young man’s struggle with mental illness, love and a deep-rooted family secret.”
The film will be directed by Miguel Sapochnik, with Bree Herzog producing fro Atomic Owl and Josh producing with JetLag’s Michelle Fightmaster and Ric Beddingfield.
We strongly believe in the global appeal of this project and we’re excited to work with Bree Herzog and team” Josh recently said of the new project.
“‘Ape’ is a passion project for us and to see it get made would truly be a dream come true.”
Meanwhile, Herzog expressed her excitement to work with Josh saying, “Josh is a tremendously talented and versatile actor who has already had an exciting career with roles spanning from blockbuster franchises such as ‘The Hunger Games’ to award-winning independent films like ‘The Kids Are All Right.’ We couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with Josh and JetLag Productions on ‘Ape,’”

It has just been announced that the smash-hit series The Hunger Games will have four movies, with the final movie Mockingjay being split into two parts!
The first movie, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth was released this March and has been the biggest blockbuster of the year.
The cast is set to begin filming of the next movie Catching Fire soon, and it will be released November 2013. The first part of Mockingjay is slated to be released the following year in November 2014, with the final film being released in November 2015.

Just this past Sunday, actor Josh Hutcherson picked up an MTV Movie Award for ‘Best Male Performance’ from his smash-hit movie The Hunger Games. The 19-year-old star, who plays Peeta Mellark will soon be heading back to the set of the Hunger Games to film the second instalment in the series, Catching Fire.
While walking the red carpet at the award show, Josh stopped to talk about his excitement about the new film as well as it’s new director Francis Lawrence after Gary Ross dropped out.
“I just had lunch with him a couple days ago, and he’s fantastic. He’s so smart and really has his finger on the pulse of the story, and I love the way he’s going to structure the script,” Josh said. “The first thing he said to me was, ‘I want to make the movie out of the book. I want the book to be the best movie possible,’ That was immediately what he led with, which meant a lot to me because the books mean a lot to me.”
What else is Josh excited about? The location for filming!
“I haven’t heard anything confirmed yet, but Atlanta is a big possibility. I know they’re looking at Hawaii, too, for some of the tropic stuff when we’re in the game itself,” Josh admitted. “I’m excited. It’s going to be somewhere nice. I’m looking forward to it.”
The new movie is currently slated to be released in November of 2013.
Journey 2 star Josh Hutcherson will be packing up and moving to a new home soon, as he has reportedly just bought a new home in the Hollywood Hills!
Josh dished out 2.5 million for his new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house which is gated and sits on a half acre of land. The house used to belong to comedian Ellen Degeneres and the late Heath Ledger.
“…built in 1951, sits behind gates on nearly a half-acre filled with sycamores. Features include glass walls, polished concrete floors, an office, beamed ceilings and video security. An outdoor living area of 2,500 square feet contains a movie lounge and barbecue space.”
Looks like Josh will get his privacy in his new home with his adorable new pooch Driver!
The rumours have been put to rest!
Last week, Josh tweeted about recovering from surgery after having a broken nose sparking rumours about how the injury happened. “just had surgery to fix my broken nose. recovery sucks…thank god for a marathon on lifetime…#theclientlist thanks @thereal_jlh” Josh wrote on Wednesday.
Different news stories broke out everywhere around the web claiming that he had broken his nose in a bar fight, or a crazed fan had injured him – all which are said to be untrue.
According to TMZ, Josh’s surgery wasn’t for a broken nose! When they caught up with Josh, they learned that the surgery was to correct a deviated septum.
Josh will soon be prepping to head back to the movie set of The Hunger Games, where he will be filming the second movie in the series Catching Fire.
The Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson recently adopted a brand new adorable puppy who he named Driver.
Where did Josh get that name from? After a Ryan Gosling movie!
Josh has already revealed that Ryan is an actor who he looks up to, and after seeing his latest flick Drive, decided to name his dog after it!
“I’m obsessed with the movie Drive,” Josh admitted as he attended the GLAAD Media Awards over the weekend. “I always thought it was a good name for a dog so it just kind of worked out.”

“It’s wonderful that so many fans have expressed interest in seeing The Hunger Games in the immersive IMAX format, and many of these are repeat viewers,” A Lionsgate Rep recently told the press. “We’re delighted that IMAX has been able to accommodate them through this special one week re-engagement.”

Continuing on with his work to raise awareness for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community, actor Josh Hutcherson has opened up to E! Online about how this has effected him personally.
Josh revealed that he had two uncles, who were both gay and passed away from AIDS. “They were in their early thirties, in great shape, but unfortunately they were taken away from us too soon,” Josh shared. “Both passed away at about the time I was born.”
“My mom has always been a big advocate, especially in the gay, lesbian, transsexual and bisexual community so for me it’s always been a part of my soul,” Josh says on his active role in working for gay rights.
Josh will even be picking up a GLAAD award for all the work he’s done so far!
“This is what my family is most proud of and the same for me, acting is one thing, but actually trying to change the world and the way people think to make people’s lives better? That’s the stuff I’m most proud of.”

Making girls around the world love him even more, Hunger Games hottie Josh Hutcherson has just adopted a brand new puppy! Some pictures have made their way onto the internet of Josh with his new pooch, which is the newest addition to Josh’s family.
The news of Josh’s adoption appeared on his facebook page where it says, “Way to go Josh! Josh just adopted a Blue Pit puppy from a pit rescue!! Thanks to Josh, he now has a full stomach, warm bed and a loving owner!”
Josh is set to make an appearance this weekend at the GLAAD Awards, where he is set to receive an award for his work with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community! He’s even the youngest person to have received an award.
Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson is being recognized at the upcoming GLAAD Awards for his role in promoting a better understanding of the gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual community. Josh will be presented with an award at the ceremony, which takes place on April 21st.
The GLAAD president released a statement in regards to Josh’s award. Here’s what he had to say:
