With a new movie hitting the big screen this summer (July 1st), actress Selena Gomez has been dishing on the film, and on her transition from the small screen to the big screen. In the new movie Monte Carlo, Selena plays a teen who is mistaken for a British socialite while on vacation with her best friends, leading to an adventure of a lifetime.
“Obviously, I want to transition into film, and this is taking baby steps to where I want to be,” Selena said in a recent interview. While making the film, Selena also discussed the hardest part of her training – learning new accents. “Accent training was the hardest thing on top of learning lines,” For the movie, Selena needed to learn two British accents, one for her character, and one for when her character is pretending to be the British socialite.
Selena also dished on one of her co-stars Leighton Meester, who is best known for her role in the CW’s Gossip Girl series. “I’m jealous,” she says. “Leighton does such a good job, and I can’t wait for people to see her in a different light.”
