Ansel Elgort is a Shirtless Stud in Interview Magazine

Posted on 2 min read 100 views

His new movie The Fault in Our Stars dominated the box office this past weekend, and now Ansel Elgort has gone shirtless and brooding in a new feature for Interview Magazine.

The 20-year-old actor is featured in Interview’s The Young Guns of Hollywood feature, where new up-and-coming standout stars are featured. In his interview, Ansel opened up about how he knew he wanted to act, saying:

When I was nine, I started doing ballet. That’s when I knew that I was down to keep doing it. Eventually I came into acting and LaGuardia and straight play-acting turned into movies. I always did workshops. I would be at theater camp, doing shows, or after-school programs. Then I was doing shows in school. It was nonstop. I was never not in a show from ages 11 until 18. It was a great creative atmosphere but also a professional kind of atmosphere. When I finally went into the professional world, I felt ready. I was prepared for work.

Not only did Ansel know that he wanted to perform, but he also revealed which musicals and movies inspired him to become an actor! “Les Miz and Oklahoma! I was a big musical guy. Then I got into movies, watching old films my dad had, the old Elia Kazan movies, like On the Waterfront [1954]. It was those old movies, actually, that really got me started. Marlon Brando, Paul Newman—straight-up legends.”

Be sure to check out Ansel’s full interview here to find out who he looks up to and how he connects with fans on social media!

Other stars in this year’s feature include Noah‘s Douglas Booth and Percy Jackson star Alexandra Daddario.
