ith her brand new show Young & Hungry
making waves on television, Ashley Tisdale
has proved she wants to do it all when it comes to acting, singing, and now producing.
The former High School Musical star graces the cover of BELLO Magazine‘s August 2014 issue, where she opens up about producing Young & Hungry, along starring in the upcoming TBS comedy Buzzy’s.
“I’m completely involved behind the scenes.” Ashley tells the mag on her role as producer of ABC Family’s Young & Hungry starring Emily Osment. “In fact, I just got off the set.”
She continues, “I’m there every table read, and I’m there every Friday night for their show night. It’s great to get to a [place where i now have the confidence in myself as a producer, especially with this project.”
Ashley adds: “At first they wanted me for the lead character. Obviously I love ABC Family and I love the company, but I just kind of really wanted to view myself as a producer for this one, and not be the driving force behind it.”
“When they picked up the pilot, it was then that I knew that it wasn’t about me being in it, and they believed in it as much as I did. I was like, ‘Ugh, oh my God, yes!”
Ashley will be appearing in front of the cameras soon, as she takes on a role in the new TBS series Buzzy’s, taking place in a Boston barber shop.
“I just feel like this new show, it’s such a great challenge, because it’s so different. I’m obviously more over the top top, and this is more natural, and so it’s challenging for me and I love that about it. It’s a completely different role and I’m so excited for people to see how mature I am in this one. It’s my transition role for sure.”
Watch out for Buzzy’s to premiere in 2015!
