During a recent interview with MTV, Heart Attack singer Demi Lovato opened up about her future goals away from her career.
“I hope I’m a mom in five years,” Demi revealed.
“Well, I’ve been working since I was 8 years old, and my first audition was when I was 5, and I started modeling when I was 5, so I’ve been working so hard my whole life. At the end of the day, yes, I want to be a musician and I have a lot of goals, but my biggest goal in life is having a family.”
As for now, all of Demi’s attention is on her fourth album DEMI, which was just released this week.
“I think I want to focus really, really hard on music for a couple years and I want to take advantage of all the momentum. I want to not let any opportunities slip past me,” Demi said. “But then I want to go on a break and I think on that break… and maybe who knows, maybe I don’t have a family and maybe I just travel the world and do all charity stuff, which would be so cool or I have a family, but that’s basically…I just want to be a wifey with babies.”

After her fourth album DEMI was released just 3 days ago, Demi Lovato‘s latest record has already shot to the top of the charts worldwide. During an interview with MTV, Demi revealed that with her new album she’s aiming to reach a wider audience to have her voice heard.
“With this album we are going towards a more mainstream audience,” Demi explained. “So if there’s a lot of people out there who don’t know who I am because they didn’t watch ‘X Factor’ or Disney channel or whatever, it is. And so this is the first time that some people are going to be seeing me, and I wanted them to really get to know who I am, but now you do, I’m going to tell you.”
Demi also opened up about the new tracks on the album, which she wrote 10 out of the 13 songs featured. With a lot of the music, I feel if you are only signing other people’s songs it makes it harder for people to understand your story and relate. So it was my goal to write every single song on the album and then I fell in love with songs I didn’t write, but who cares…still sound good.”
“I’m in a really good place. I’m grateful for everything,” She continued. “I’m also at a place where I’m in acceptance of every single heartbreak that I’ve had. I hold no resentments towards anyone, even towards the people that inspire the really emotional songs. I’m over it and now I just want to share my experience with people.”
Demi even admitted that her favorite song at the moment from her album is Made in the USA! Could it be her next single?
As her fourth studio album DEMI takes over the charts, singer Demi Lovato has released the second episode in the Story of Demi series.
In the new episode, Demi talks about some of the new songs on her record and how they came to be. One of the most personal songs she wrote, named Warrior, is so close to the 20-year-old that she even admitted it can be hard for her to perform live.
“I have a really hard time when I play that song for other people. I kinda don’t want to be in the room, cause I feel like, butt naked.” Demi said. “I mean, it’s an honesty that I think people will relate to, and I hopefully will help someone, help inspire them to overcome something that I’ve been through.”
Another personal song with lots of meaning behind it is one of Demi’s personal favorites from the album, Nightingale.
“Nightingale is definitely a personal song. It’s about one of my friends actually that passed away when we were thirteen, and I feel like sometimes I literally know when he’s in the room with me. I just have a really strong connection to him, I feel like he’s my nightingale.”
Demi also expressed her passion for music, saying that she doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon!
“Yes I am an artist, but at the end of the day I’m just creating music that I like. I definitely think I’m going to be an artist for the rest of my life.” she said.

As her new album DEMI makes its way into stores TODAY (May 14), Demi Lovato‘s recent soundcheck with Walmart has just been released.
During her soundcheck, Demi talked about her new album and single Heart Attack, as well as how she usually writes songs. The 20-year-old then performed 4 songs, Skyscraper, Give Your Heart a Break, and My Love is Like a Star from her last album Unbroken; and Heart Attack from her new album.
“This album, called ‘Demi’, it’s just a representation of who I am and where I am today and the music that I wanted to create for a long time and I finally got the courage to do so.” Demi said. “It kind of goes back to my roots from my first few albums and it’s different because I’m also speaking about some pretty heavy issues and opening up a lot.”
As for her new single Heart Attack, “Heart attack was the right first single because it showed how catchy some of my songs are going to be on the album, but it also showed my edgier side and I just wanted to step forward with a bang rather than coming out with a slower song first.”
“My writing process is going into the studio and either having something to say and telling who I’m writing with like, ‘Hey, this is what I want to write about, I have to get this off my chest.’ That’s how we kind of start the song, and also just trying to personalize it as much as possible”
