“I just had lunch with him a couple days ago, and he’s fantastic. He’s so smart and really has his finger on the pulse of the story, and I love the way he’s going to structure the script,” Josh said. “The first thing he said to me was, ‘I want to make the movie out of the book. I want the book to be the best movie possible,’ That was immediately what he led with, which meant a lot to me because the books mean a lot to me.”

What else is Josh excited about? The location for filming!

“I haven’t heard anything confirmed yet, but Atlanta is a big possibility. I know they’re looking at Hawaii, too, for some of the tropic stuff when we’re in the game itself,” Josh admitted. “I’m excited. It’s going to be somewhere nice. I’m looking forward to it.”

The new movie is currently slated to be released in November of 2013.

With The Hunger Games still in theaters, fans have been patiently awaiting new details on the next movie in the series Catching Fire, which will not be directed by the original director, Gary Ross.

Francis Lawrence will be stepping in as the new director, while actor Liam Hemsworth has expressed his excitement to work with Lawrence. Liam, who plays Gale Hawthorne in the movies recently spoke to E! News about the new change.

“The last I heard the new director (Lawrence) had just come on, so that’s really cool,” Liam said. “I’m excited about that. I think we shoot the last few months of this year.”

“I’m really sad to see that Gary’s not going to be part of the second one,” he said. “He did such an amazing job on the first. I think that there’s still so many people a part of it that want the film to be great and care about it so much that they’re not going to bring the wrong person on.”

Catching Fire isn’t expected to hit theaters until November of 2013. Long wait!

Selena Gomez aims to star in sitcom and dramatic films

Posted on 04 Jan 2012 at 11:36pm

With a successful music career, clothing line, and emmy-winning disney series already under her belt, 19-year-old Selena Gomez is continuing to look towards the future and how to keep her successful career on the right path. In a recent interview, Selena revealed all the different things she would like to accomplish in the future.

“I’d like my music career to keep growing, start a prime-time weekly sitcom and make dramatic films with some first-rate directors.” Selena shared.

Selena’s music career has been steadily growing, with three albums already out and a hit single Love You Like a Love Song which continues to appear on the charts. “I’d like to grow with my music. It’s really a passion of mine. I want to have fun with it and make my fans happy with what I sing. I love it and want it to be a part of my life forever.”

As for a sitcom, Selena would love to star in a series like one of her favorites, Friends. “Working on Wizards made me realize what an impact a weekly show can have on building support for you as an artist. I’d love to be a part of another ensemble series, something contemporary and kooky and funny and a bit romantic. Like Friends was back when it started.”

“Of course, I want to make feature films,” Selena continued. “ideally dramatic ones and I know you have to be careful about how you do it. That’s one of the reasons I admire Rachel McAdams so much. I love the choices she’s made and the way she seems to be playing out her career. I’d love to talk to her and figure out why she does what she does.”

As for the directors she’d love to work with, Selena said “David Fincher and Martin Scorsese. A little crazy? Maybe, but I can dream, can’t I? Hey, I’ve been dreaming all along and look how far it’s gotten me!”

Best of luck to Selena with her future projects! Watch out for the series finale of Wizards of Waverly Place on January 6th.
