Actors Maisie Williams, Elle Fanning, Douglas Booth and Bel Powley were spotted walking the red carpet in Toronto, Canada on Saturday (Sept. 9), as they attended the premiere of their new movie Mary Shelley at Roy Thompson Hall.
Mary Shelley is a British period biopic about the famous Frankenstein author (played by Elle Fanning).
“After filming this movie I felt older, like . . . I felt wiser, like I’d learned something,” Elle told the Toronto Star at the premiere about taking on the role of a young Mary Shelley.
“I do feel after filming, I started a new chapter in my life, of knowing what it is to be a woman, maybe, realizing that gift,” she added. “Mary Shelley kind of gave me that gift of maturity.”

On the Most Romantic Thing He’s Done:
“There have been a lot of the typical ones: walking around Paris or somewhere that is special, but most of them have been quite private. I think the most romantic moments can be found in the most ordinary of places. But, you could be in a wheelie bin and if you’re with someone you love it can be magical.”
On his Dream Date:
“I think being active is always fun. My dream date is if someone could ski. We would do it for the day, you would be able get to know each other physically because you’re skiing and then stop for lunch and then après ski and there who knows where it would go next…”
On His Go-To Designers:
“Everything from Topman to Tom Ford. I like to mix it up. Topman is great for day and even red carpet. I love Tom Ford because when you wear those suits you feel like a god. I also like Dolce & Gabbana, I really get on with Stefano and Domencio so I really like to wear their clothes as they make you walk tall.”
On Whether or Not He’d Rock a Floral Gucci Suit:
“I’d give it a go. I’m not sure I would be able to pull it off. It’s never been my style, but I’m always willing to give everything a go.”
On his Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Character Bingley:
“I’d come off the end of playing bad boys for a couple of jobs. So it was great to come and play a really nice, affable, warm, embracing, and morally upstanding character. Although, he’s also not perfect either. He’s not the bravest but, I would definitely say warmth and compassion are his best traits.”

You can also check out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in theatres now.
In the zombie adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel, Douglas takes on the role of Mr. Bingley, Darcy’s best friend. “He’s not the best,” Douglas laughs, “[But] I was coming off Jupiter Ascending and The Riot Club, having played not so great characters, so was it refreshing to play such a lovable character. He’s a kind-hearted guy with such good intentions, but he’s a bit hapless and helpless.”
“It was fun coming to work and knowing all you had to do was just get on with everyone and be really amiable.”
When asked if he had a list of people he’d like to work with in the future, Douglas saod: “Oh massively. I’d love to work with Paul Thomas Anderson or Quentin Tarantino, but these are dreams I don’t need to rush to achieve. I’ll be ready to make those movies when I’m ready to make those movies and they’re ready to make them with me, if they ever want to.”
Be sure to check out Douglas in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies when it hits theatres on Friday (February 5)! You can also read Douglas’ full interview here.
