Emma Watson Reveals Which Book She’ll Be Reading This Month For her Feminist Book Club

Posted on 1 min read 30 views

I have never wanted to join a book club more.

Actress/activist Emma Watson recently announced that she is starting her very own Feminist book club called Our Shared Self, where she will join others online to read and discuss different feminist works each month.

Emma took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the book the club will be reading for the month of June by sharing a picture of herself holding the book Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.

Persepolis is a graphic novel that follows: “the story of Satrapi’s unforgettable childhood and coming of age within a large and loving family in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution; of the contradictions between private life and public life in a country plagued by political upheaval; of her high school years in Vienna facing the trials of adolescence far from her family; of her homecoming–both sweet and terrible; and, finally, of her self-imposed exile from her beloved homeland. It is the chronicle of a girlhood and adolescence at once outrageous and familiar, a young life entwined with the history of her country yet filled with the universal trials and joys of growing up.”

Excuse me while I run out to get my hands on this book! If you’re looking to join in on Emma’s club, you can purchase the book here.

Emma Watson Attends the Met Gala in a Gown Made out of Recycled Plastic Bottles

Posted on 2 min read 17 views

Actress Emma Watson has been generating some buzz over her look for the 2016 Met Gala on Monday (May 2) – and it’s not just because she looked amazing (as usual).

The Harry Potter actress arrived at the gala in New York City wearing a custom-made gown by Calvin Klein and Eco Ago, which was made entirely out of recycled materials!

Emma took to her Facebook page to write about her look, saying:

“Thank you Calvin Klein & Eco Age for collaborating with me and creating the most amazing gown. I am proud to say it is truly sustainable and represents a connection between myself and all the people in the supply chain who played a role in creating it.

The body of the gown is crafted from three different fabrics, all woven from yarns made from recycled plastic bottles (!). Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants on the planet. Being able to repurpose this waste and incorporate it into my gown for the ‪#‎MetGala‬ proves the power that creativity, technology and fashion can have by working together.

Each and every part of this beautiful gown has been produced with sustainability in mind, even the components that you can’t see. The zippers on the gown are made from recycled materials and the inner bustier has been crafted from organic cotton. Conventional cotton is one of the highest impact crops, using more chemicals than any other crop in the world. Organic cotton on the other hand, is grown without the use of the most harmful chemicals and is therefore better for the environment and people working with cotton. The organic silk used in the lining of my gown is certified to a standard that guarantees the highest environmental and social standards throughout production. It is my intention to repurpose elements of the gown for future use. The trousers can be worn on their own, as can the bustier, the train can be used for a future red carpet look… I’m looking forward to experimenting with this. Truly beautiful things should be worn again and again and again. ‪#‎30wears‬

I hope you like it! The ultimate #30Wears! ‪#‎MetGala2016‬

Emma xx”

Well done Emma on using this high-profile event for taking the lead and raising awareness for such an important issue! We love the look!

Rupert Grint on Kissing Emma Watson in Harry Potter: “There was so much expectation”

Posted on 1 min read 42 views

When Rupert Grint and Emma Watson‘s characters Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger FINALLY shared a kiss in the final Harry Potter films, fans of the series went crazy for the long-awaited moment.

However, Rupert recently revealed that shooting the scene wasn’t nearly as magical as one would have thought.

“I never look back at that scene,” Rupert told PEOPLE during a Harry Potter celebration at Universal Orlando last week.

“I’ve known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship,” he said. “And it just felt very surreal. I have a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, ‘Oh my God.’ I can’t really remember anything apart from that.”

Asked if he would do anything differently in the scene, Rupert said: “One take was enough. It was such a huge moment and there was so much expectation. Quite a lot of pressure actually.”
