After releasing the music video for her latest single Come and Get It, the Selena Gomez track has experienced a sudden rush of success pushing it farther up the Billboard charts.

The song, which was sitting at number 23 jumped to number 14 after the highly successful video was released, and has now jumped even further to number 6 this week.

Billboard wrote, “Selena Gomez soars to her first Hot 100 top 10, as “Come & Get It” blasts 14-6 with the chart’s top Streaming Gainer nod. It rockets 36-4 on Streaming Songs (5.7 million, up 264%) following the premiere of its video on May 7. The song also jumps 9-6 on Digital Songs (143,000, up 24%) and 35-24 on Radio Songs (43 million, up 13%). It becomes her first top 10 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart (15-10).”

Selena’s previous songs have never reached the top 10, with the collaboration song Send it On she did with Disney’s Friends for Change peaking at number 20, while her other singles Who Says and Love You Like a Love Song reached 21 and 22 on the charts.

Selena is currently preparing to release her fourth studio album Stars Dance, and will be heading out on tour starting in August to promote her new music.

19-year-old star Selena Gomez has been busy working on new movies and music, as well as the upcoming launch of her very first fragrance called Selena Gomez.

While doing some promotion work, Selena chatted with E! Online about her boyfriend Justin Bieber‘s new album. Justin has been in the studio working hard on Believe, his next album – he has even collaborated with Selena’s good friend and country superstar Taylor Swift!

What does Selena think of Taylor & Selena’s song?

“It’s beautiful,” she shared. “I don’t know if it’s going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful.”

Selena also admitted that she isn’t planning on recording a new album just yet. “Not yet,” she said. “We’re maybe going to do some fun remixes, but right now it’s just about movies.”

Can’t wait for more Selena music? Her hit Love You Like a Love Song is getting the Glee treatment, and will be featured on an upcoming episode!

“I didn’t even know and my label didn’t even know it was happening,” Selena said. “Cory Monteith texted me a video of someone singing it and I was like, ‘Wait, that’s Lea!” I asked him if they were on set and he sent me back a smiley face. So that’s how we found out.”

Disney pals Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were all smiles tonight (August 7) as they hit up the blue carpet together at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. The best friends did their signature pose together with their arms linked before heading into the show, where Selena picked up 5 awards along with performing Love You Like a Love Song.

“I felt like this song is a sweet way of saying what every person feels when you’re in love with someone. For me it’s almost like it’s the honeymoon stage. ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ is about that first beginning and that rush, and it has a little techno beat to it.” Selena explains.
