Nickelodeon actress Miranda Cosgrove stepped out last night to attend the 22nd Annual Beat The Odds Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California. Looking pretty in black ruffled pants and a sequined top, Miranda was all smiles before heading into the event.

Miranda took a break from her busy schedule to attend the event, having just wrapped her hit television series iCarly before heading off to college.

In a recent interview, Miranada chatted about going to college:

“I have an essay due. I’ll be doing homework during Thanksgiving break,” Miranda said.

The 19-year-old admitted that she feels perfectly at home while at the University of Southern California, where she is just another teen in school.

“People come up to me and introduce themselves. My best friends are people who came up to me in class. I guess I’m not the kind of person who goes up and introduces herself, so it’s been the best thing ever. Sometimes I forget that I’ve been on the show, because everyone is just trying to get to class and get their work done.” She said.

“This is my first semester. I’m getting in the groove and getting used to it and trying to figure college out,” she says. “I definitely want to act. That’s why I want to major in film. The most important thing is to find a good story. It’s hard when you’re coming from a TV show. I’m hoping to find something that’s right. It’s hard when you’re trying to do something different but not lose the people who know you. I wouldn’t want to rush and do something that wasn’t right. I’m just focusing on school.”

Despite multiple rumours that she had dropped out of school, British actress Emma Watson insists she is still planning on finishing her education. The Harry Potter star revealed her education plans, clearing up all the rumours.

“I’m going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year.” She explained, “Just to explain, I haven’t left Brown. I’m still enrolled at Brown, but I’m doing my third year abroad to study at home.”

Emma also talked about her connection to her character Hermione Granger. “I’m also a bit of a feminist. I speak my mind in the same way that she does… I feel like young girls are told they have to be a princess, and be delicate and fragile, and that’s bulls**t. I identify much more with the idea of being a warrior, being a fighter. If I was going to be a princess, I’d be a warrior princess, definitely.”

Sonny with a Chance beauty Demi Lovato has always spoken out about bullying, as she tries to eliminate bullying for good. Demi knows first hand what it is like to be bullied.

“I know first hand what it’s like to be called names and to be affected by things,” Demi shared. “They would call me fat, they would call me promiscuous in different words. At the time, when I was 12-years-old, that was like the end of the world.”

“To me, bullying is one of my biggest platforms. Let’s change the world.”

Demi has even teamed up with Pacer Teens Against Bullying to help kids everywhere put an end to bullying!

Zombie songstress Taylor Momsen is known for her provocative fashion choices, and the Gossip Girl star has revealed that she used to be teased about her fashion choices as a kid.

“I haven’t lived a normal life and even though I did go to school I was in and out. I had like, two friends growing up, but now my band is like my family,” Taylor said. “I didn’t have the chance to go to school and be normal. I was always kind of the weird kid who was in movies and I was very shy. And when I was at elementary school in Missouri I used to wear knee-high socks and got made fun of all the time, now I’m famous for my thigh-highs. Ironic.”

Taylor, who is the lead singer for the band The Pretty Reckless also mentioned that their debut album Light Me Up will give fans an inside look at Taylor’s true personality. She also insisted that she is nothing like her character on the hit CW television series Gossip Girl.

“Well I’m not my character, I’m an actress and I’m a completely different person to Jenny,” Taylor explained. “You see me on TV every week and I look the same, so fans think they know me and my life. But it’s not my life, my life is very, very different. I mean it’s dark and twisty and whatever people might say about the record – it’s all, ‘Oh she’s crazy’ but they don’t mean it in a negative way. Yes, I have a personality.”

Looking cute in a cardigan and scarf, British actress Emma Watson was spotted at the Heathrow Airport in London, England today (September 12th) as she caught a flight to the US, where she will be going back to school at Brown University.
