Singer Halsey dropped by Australia’s Triple J radio station earlier this week to promote her music, where she performed a song off of her debut album Badlands, along with a cover of Justin Bieber‘s popular song Love Yourself.
Before performing the cover, Halsey talked about working with Justin on the song The Feeling from his latest album Purpose, which they performed together on the Today Show.
“We performed the song together actually for the first time ever,” she said. “You know, I was on stage, in super baggy jeans, and I had my short hair cut and like whatever else, and I’m singing on stage, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘How cool is it that there are girls sitting at home watching the biggest male pop star in the world on stage with a girl who’s not necessarily traditionally like feminine or traditionally beautiful or traditionally like whatever, you know what I mean?'”
She continued, “And that was really, really cool for me because if I was that like short-haired, punk chick sitting at home who secretly loved Justin Bieber, I’d be like, ‘yes, you go! You get that! You get that!’ But I did not get that! I’m just saying.”
During her time at Triple J, Halsey also performed her song Hold Me Down, check it out below!
