During a recent interview with Marie Claire, singer/actress Selena Gomez dished on her health and beauty, revealing how she stays in shape, how she maintains her amazing locks, and who’s got the best hair in Hollywood.

On Working out during the Revival Tour:

“I’m horrible at discipline when it comes to working out. I’m one of those people who’s like, ‘Ah, I ran for five minutes. I think I’m good.’ Not the best, so I’ve been working with my trainer Amy Rosoff Davis for a year now, and when we started the tour, I really wanted to keep it up. I wanted to be healthy; I wanted to feel good. I just wanted to make sure I was the best I could be for the show and for my fans. Amy is actually on the road with me, which is really great because she’s the person who comes in when I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like it.’ She’s like, ‘No, you’re getting up and you’re working out.’ We’ll do hikes. We have a Pilates machine. I have a sweat bed, which looks like a burrito that I wrap myself up in, and I sweat for about 45 minutes. Just little things to kind of keep me healthy and keep me focused.”

On the Sweat Bed:

“…you can actually buy it. I started going to a place called Shape House, and you lay in these beds in a sweatsuit, and they wrap you up and you sweat for 45 minutes and it releases all the toxins of your body, and you kind of feel…kind of the equivalent of a sauna, but it gets your heart rate up, and it gets everything flowing in your body. It’s changed my skin, it’s kind of changed my body as well, so it feels really good. That’s kind of been something that works for me personally.”

“Yeah, it’s amazing. You feel so good. I know it sounds gross, but you just sit in your sweat for an hour and don’t immediately shower because there’s natural collagen in your toxins that it actually makes your skin feel softer before you wash it all off. It feels incredible. I definitely suggest it.”

On Washing her Hair While on Tour:

“Well, it depends. It’s actually not necessarily great to wash it all the time because I’ve just never been that way. Marissa [Marino] who is my hairstylist on the road, I’ve known for years, and I feel like with my hair it gets better every day when it’s kind of a little dirty, so I’m one of those people—which I have to thank my mom and dad for because they have really thick hair. Other than that, I just do the same thing. I’ll use Pantene—the one I have right now is Expert Intense Hydration, which is really nice because everywhere I go has been kind of dry. I don’t do conditioner. I feel like I do maybe every three days I’ll kind of shower—not shower, wash my hair. I shower every day.”

On the worst beauty advice she’s ever received:

“I just can’t understand when—and no offense—people have to wear makeup all the time, and they’ll say, ‘Oh, you can sleep with a tinted moisturizer or a self tanner on your face and you can wake up.’ For me, I just think that’s not my vibe, plus I do breakout. I don’t know if it’s bad advice, I just think it’s kind of to each their own. For me, I can’t really sleep with things on my body or tinted things just because I get worried. It’s not my vibe.”

On Handling a Pimple before a Red Carpet or Photoshoot:

“If it’s a photoshoot, I’m probably more lucky because Photoshop, and if it’s a close up, I have to have makeup, and I just kind of do it. You can’t really fight it. I think there are things that I could do or procedures for sure, but I just don’t. I think that’s gonna happen.”

On Whose She’d Want to Switch Hair With:

“I wish she was my friend, but she’s not my friend. Blake Lively. I’ve never met her, but I just love her hair. I think she’s got beautiful, effortless hair. I think she’s super beachy. I also really love, love, love Rachel McAdams, and the reason why I love her hair is because she can always change it up, and she can always kind of…I don’t know. If you think about it from Wedding Crashers to Mean Girls to The Notebook, she’s always changing her hair. It’s like short and long and beautiful. She’s kind of classy that way. Those are two people that are not my friends, but I love them, and I think they have really good hair.”

On if She Would Ever Go Blonde:

“No, unless it’s for a movie role. I love my hair. I definitely think it’s my staple piece. It’s something that makes me feel like me, but when I’m acting or doing anything for a role, obviously I can’t ever say that I wouldn’t do it, but it would have to be for something like that.”
