Season one of Andi Mack was jam-packed with drama, and the show left off with Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and Jonah Beck‘s (Asher) friendship falling apart, along with the falling apart of Jonah Beck’s relationship with Amber (Emily Skinner). However, the finale also teased some other relationships that were growing stronger — namely those between Buffy (Sofia Wylie) and Marty (Garren Stitt), and Bex (Lilan Bowden) and Bowie (Trent Garrett).
So, what’s going to happen to Andi and her friends and family when the show picks back up again?
“I don’t really want to give anything away,” Asher told Teen Daily about the new season. “I’m just gonna say a lot more fun, [and] a lot more secrets.”
What’s to come for Jonah Beck in Season 2
Asher did, however, reveal a little more about his character, Jonah Beck, who went through several ups and downs with his friendship with Andi during season one.
“During season one, he was kind of oblivious I would say,” he said. “He didn’t really know what was going on around him, and I think now [in season 2] he actually knows that he can hurt someone.”
Asher also revealed that he feels close to Jonah Beck because the two share many similarities.
“He’s a popular, charming guy,” Asher said. “Pretty thoughtful, sensitive and people really love him and the energy that he brings to the table. And that’s kind of like me, I’m totally energetic all the time. He’s just a blast to play.”
“I’m [also] really thoughtful and I really care about people,” Asher added.
Working on Andi Mack
While Asher is enjoying his time working on the show, the actor also revealed that his friendship with the Andi Mack cast is what makes the show so fun.
“The cast and the crew obviously are amazing, we’re all just so close,” Asher said. “Josh (Joshua Rush), he’s like my brother, Peyton’s like my sister, and we just do everything together. I know we’re together every day, but when we’re not together we miss each other so much. We’re just so close.”
As for Asher’s favourite episode that he got to film with the cast in season one, he said: “Episode four, it’s the party episode. [It was] so much fun. Extras were everywhere, it was a party, [and] we had Silly String and were silly stringing each other.”
Asher’s dream Andi Mack guest star
While Asher loves spending time with his castmates on-set, the actor also revealed that he knows just who he’d love to see as a guest star in the future. “If I could have anyone guest star, I think I’m gonna have to go with David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly Place,” he said. “He’s just a really cool guy and I think if he guest starred, he could come in as Jonah Beck’s older brother. I think David Henrie would be a good fit to the show.”
You can catch Asher in the one-hour season 2 premiere of Andi Mack this Friday, October 27, at 8 p.m. ET on the Disney Channel!
