In addition to her performance, Taylor is also up for some awards during this year’s ceremony — she’s nominated for Top Female Artist and Top Touring Artist.
ME! is Taylor’s first single off of her forthcoming seventh album and was released with an accompanying music video on Friday, April 26. The star teased fans with clues about her newest era on social media over the past few weeks through a series of cryptic posts before heading off to Nashville to unveil the song’s name with a specially-commissioned mural by Kelsea Montague on Thursday (April 26).

Taylor also made an appearance on Good Morning America on Friday to talk about her new song, which she says is all about giving fans positive feelings.
“‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it and owning it,” she said. “I think that with a pop song we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves.”
As for who makes Taylor feel happy, it’s her fans:
“The fans are amazing, I cannot believe how dedicated they are, how thoughtful, I can’t believe how much they care,” Taylor said. “So it makes it more fun for me to create music, create music videos, knowing that they’ll care about little easter eggs, or clues or hints.”
“You have no idea how much fun that is to make stuff for people who care about it that much.”
The BBMAs will broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
