Two Freeform shows that will be returning for another season are The Bold Type and Siren.
ABC, the parent company of Freeform, announced the renewal of the two shows on Tuesday during their Upfronts presentation, revealing that The Bold Type will return for Season 4 during the 2019/2020 television season, and Siren will be also coming back for its third season.
It was also announced that The Bold Type‘s show runner Amanda Lasher will be stepping down for the new season, and Wendy Straker Hauser, a producer on the series, will be taking her place instead.
The Bold Type stars Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy, and Katie Stevens, and follows three close friends as they navigate their careers at a New York women’s magazine, along with their sexualities, identities, and voices.
Before kicking off its third season, Siren will be returning to Freeform for the second half of season two starting June 13.
The series stars Eline Powell, who plays “a mysterious young woman (who happens to be a mermaid) who came ashore looking for her sister, who had been accidentally captured by a fisherman. In the second season, an attack on an oil rig created deadly consequences and the mermaids returned to sea, leaving Helen (Rena Owen) reeling in the discovery that not only is she not the only merfolk around but also that there is a darkness to the merfolk’s past.”
On Tuesday, The Bold Type‘s Aisha Dee, Katie Stevens, and Meghann Fahy and Siren‘s Eline Powell were spotted repping the new season of their shows at the 2019 ABC Walt Disney Television Upfront presentation in New York City.
