After tying the knot in December 2018, actor Liam Hemsworth is opening up on what it’s like being married to Miley Cyrus.
During a recent interview with GQ Australia, Liam revealed that married life isn’t too much different from dating life.
“It doesn’t change the relationship, it’s a more connected, deeper version of your relationship before you got married. But it’s still the same thing,” he said.
But Liam is no stranger to enduring rumors around his personal life, with tabloids regularly speculating about his relationship with Miley, who he’s been on and off with since meeting in 2009.
“Yeah, I’ve been getting married for years now,” he joked. “We’ve been fake married about a billion times. I can’t tell you how many calls and texts I’ve got over the last five years from best friends – even from my parents sometimes – they’re like, ‘Did you get married? Is it real this time? Did you have a baby?’”
Liam also revealed that losing his house with Miley in the California wild fires last year only made them closer.
“I was 18 when I met Miley,” Liam said. “We really fell in love quickly and had a really strong connection from the beginning and I think in the back of my head I knew it was on the cards, but we weren’t planning to have a wedding anytime soon. Then just going through something this emotional with someone, it brings you closer and we felt like we’d lost a big part of our lives, so we wanted to make a new part of our lives. It was something really good coming out of a horrible situation. It was going to happen eventually, but I think this just sped it up a little bit.”
As for if kids are on the horizon for the couple, Liam said:
“Yeah, one day. Once we don’t have so many dogs. You couldn’t bring a baby into our house right now. But one day, we’ll know when it’s right. But right now? Not for the time being.”
When asked about the number of kids he wants, Liam said: “Of kids? 10, 15, maybe 20.”
During his interview, Liam also spoke about his love for pranking Miley, which she often shares on her Instagram stories.
“Yeah, I love a prank,” he says. “She’s super wacky. I’m super wacky. And together, it brings out the wackiness. But she never turns it off – it’s always there.”
