K-Pop group BTS took over Central Park in New York City on Wednesday (May 15), as they helped kick off Good Morning America‘s 2019 Summer Concert Series with a special performance of their latest hit, Boy with Luv.
BTS also performed their 2016 song Fire during their appearance, as they were cheered on by a jam-packed crowd of fans, some of whom had been camping out since Friday (May 10) to see the group.
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook also talked about their tour and music with hosts Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts during the show.
“It’s so amazing,” Jungkook said about touring the U.S., “It feels just like a dream.”
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see you guys at the MetLife stadium tour,” J-Hope said about their upcoming shows this weekend in New Jersey.
When talking about the dedication of their fans, who camped out for days to see them perform, V said:
“Our fans are the best. They are our motivation. We love you, Army.”
“Thank you for waiting for days,” RM added.
GMA’s Summer Concert Series takes place in Central Park in New York City every Friday from 7 to 9 AM ET. Other artists like Alessia Cara, Sabrina Carpenter and more are scheduled to perform during this years’s series — you can find out more about who’s going to perform this year here.
BTS are currently on tour with their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself tour. The boys played two shows in Chicago over the weekend, and will be headed to New Jersey this weekend for two more shows before heading off to Brazil.
BTS will also be releasing a new song titled Lights this June, which will be their first Japanese original song in four years that will also be accompanied by a music video. Find out more about the new single and the special editions being released with it here!
