BTS can now add the mobile app charts to the list of charts they’ve topped!
After releasing their free new mobile game BTS World on Wednesday (June 26), the k-pop group’s app quickly rose to the top of app charts around the world, hitting the number one spot in 25 countries.
According to Variety, the app hit number one for iPhone downloads in the U.S. overall and among game apps within 5 hours of its release, while also topping the charts in countries like South Korea, Japan, and more.
The app is additionally ranked in the top five apps in 36 additional countries.
The last big app to rise to the top of the app charts was last week’s Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which reached the top spot on Apple’s App Store in 15 hours.
BTS World is a game that allows users to virtually manage members of the group (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) through an interactive journey with the goal of helping BTS become superstars.
In addition, the app also features tons of new photos and video clips of the k-pop group, along with its own original soundtrack.
The game will also allow players to take on missions to progress through the game, collecting and upgrading BTS member cards to access even more stories along the way. Throughout the game, players can also interact virtually with the BTS members through an interactive one-on-one system.
The game was developed with Netmarble and is available for both iOS and Android devices.
