As she continues to promote her new movie The Dead Don’t Die, Selena Gomez made an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Wednesday (June 12), where she spoke about her new movie, Instagram and more.
Selena revealed that while she has millions of followers on Instagram, she doesn’t actually keep the app on her phone for the sake of her mental health.
“I think it’s just become really unhealthy, I think personally, for young people including myself to spend all of their time fixating on all these comments and letting this stuff in,” she said.
“And it was affecting me,” she continued. “It would make me depressed, it would make me feel not good about myself and look at my body differently and all kinds of stuff. So I actually don’t have it on my phone. I have it on someone else’s phone and when I feel like I want to share something with my fans or just mess around with it, I do it then.”
During her interview, Selena also talked about what it was like working with Bill Murray, whom she said is “so cool” and one of the funniest people she’s ever met.
And while Selena wouldn’t give any specific details about when fans can expect to see new music from her, she did confirm that it’s coming this year.
The Dead Don’t Die opens in theaters this Friday, June 14.
