Despite rumors that Tom is dating his Spider-Man co-star Zendaya, the actor told Elle that the two aren’t dating, and that he’s single. Tom also revealed that he’s “definitely a relationship person.”
“I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life.” he said, adding that right now, all his energy is going into his work.
While he may not be dating Zendaya, the two are still close friends. Tom even spoke about visiting Zendaya on the set of The Greatest Showman with Jacob Batalon, where he witnessed her filming a trapeze scene, balancing on top of a pole.
“I was standing there with Jacob, and I was like, ‘Oh look!’ ” Tom said on seeing Zendaya in action. “I remember thinking, There’s no way she’s going to jump off that—it’s like 60 feet. And then she jumped. We were gobsmacked.”
Tom also spoke about how his background in gymnastics, ballet, and tap came in handy with his superhero role, saying: “When you’re high up on wires and dangling from harnesses, it’s really good to be able to control your core. I didn’t have to learn how the wires work—I just had to learn how to do it better.”
