To celebrate the release of their latest film, which which documents the group during their Love Yourself World Tour in Europe, the members of BTS sat down on Tuesday (Aug 6) to watch the film together.
After watching the film, RM took to the group’s fan community app Weverse to pen a message on his thoughts about the movie and his personal growth journey. He wrote (translated via bts fancafe):
For the first time on Weverse, I’m gonna leave this long post here.
I saw Bring The Soul today and I had a lot of thoughts.
Oh, that’s what I was like. I thought I was mature, but I wasn’t. I was so clumsy and reckless. The scenes were from a year ago. Why?
Things that I have always been curious and anxious – how about shouting it all wholeheartedly? Do you think I’ll make people feel touched heartily? Where are we now? Who am I on this team? What would the members think? And you guys under the stage?
I always know the answer, but sometimes turn my back on it. Walking through countless streets and countless rivers, the answer may have been nothing less than comfort and a moment of anesthesia. But anyway, I’m going to live with it. Even if I don’t know who, and whatever I do, I still sit at the desk in the studio and see other artists in my eyes and have them in my mind. If it’s too difficult, I run like a racehorse on a treadmill. Then it seems as if I could open up my narrow mind more.
What else should we offer this time? Oh…the most curious and fearful thing is that when I sing, write, and dance, will I be able to reach the hearts of many people? Will this be true? When I write songs and lyrics, those things can’t seem to leave my mind for days or weeks.
All the lyrics turned me to tears. It’s like wearing clothes and taking a shower on the street. I think I know a little bit of the actor’s mind playing the plays.
Like summer when you’re suddenly in the middle of nowhere, it’s kind of random, but sometimes you have to leave something this way. Maybe someday I will get a little bit of a quilt. But I keep forgetting the scenes from yesterday because I usually think too much. I’m afraid forgetfulness will become a habit. So sometimes I’ll write it down where you can see it. You don’t know what this movie will be like. I was a little weird. And I just wanted to get better. Ah, it’s still a long way to go before I can look better on myself. Why is it still so far away?
I will sit at the studio desk tomorrow night to get a little closer as I call to you. I’m sure you will reach out to me when you sing like this forever. I just want to thank you all the time, and I’ll think about who I am and move on.
Anyway, I have watched a Disney movie today! I saw the exhibition. Like the lyrics of Mikrokosmos, I pray that each room glows beautifully at night. I believe you. Right now, all of us.
According to the film’s synopsis, Bring The Soul: The Movie takes place around“the day following the final concert of their Europe tour, on a rooftop in Paris, [where] BTS tells their very own stories from experiencing new cities to performing in front of thousands of ARMY across the globe. A glimpse into BTS’ world away from the stage, featuring intimate group discussions alongside spectacular concert performances from the tour, this is a cinema event not to be missed.”
The movie will open globally in theaters on Wednesday, August 7, and you can purchase tickets ahead of time over on the movie’s official website.
This is BTS’ third feature film, following up their 2018 movie Burn the Stage: The Movie and 2019’s Love Yourself in Seoul.
