Black-ish and She-Ra star Marcus Scribner recently sat down for a segment of Buzzfeed’s “First Times” series, where he talked about different first times he’s had in his life — from his first time walking a red carpet to the first time he was recognized in public.
During the segment, Marcus revealed that while he tends to skip the red carpet when attending premieres these days, his first time walking one was at the premiere of Planes.
“I got all dressed up, picked out my coolest ‘I love California’ t-shirt, and went to the premiere,” Marcus recalled. “And they had a lot of cool firefighter-themed popcorn and all this kind of stuff. That was my first red carpet experience.”
The actor also dished on his very first memory from the Black-ish set, saying:
“It was so awkward, the first day I was extremely awkward. We had to take a bunch of spec shoot photos, and it really felt like it was like a prom experience.”
Marcus then explained how the cast had to shoot family photos while having just met each other, saying: “It was so awkward, it was all of our first times meeting each other so everybody was like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you,’ and I was super awkward at the time.”

You can catch Marcus in the new season of Black-ish when it returns to ABC this fall. Season 3 of She-ra is also available on Netflix as of today.
