An era is beginning to come to an end for the Modern Family cast!
The cast gathered this week to start working on the show’s 11th and final season, starting with a table read for the season’s first episode.
To commemorate their final first table read, the cast, including Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, gathered for a picture.
Several of the cast members later shared the photo on social media, including Sarah, who wrote:
“From the first table read to the last first table read…. I’ve become my tv mother. Swipe for proof.”
The new season of the show will focus on Haley (Sarah Hyland) living with her new twins and Dylan in the Dunphy household, and how it affects the rest of the family.
“One of the arcs for next season will just be Dylan, Haley and these two new babies living in the Dunphy house, and how it affects that household and everybody in it,” the show’s creator Steven Levitan recently told THR. “We will keep her working so that it’s not easy and everybody has to help out a little bit. So that’s a good place to start, that there’s going to be literally some new life into that house. We have a couple of other ideas for the other two households as well. That’s how we start it, and then we had to begin aiming toward in what we think our ending might be.”
Season 11 of Modern Family will premiere on ABC on September 25, 2019.
